– A U T H O R –
Being brave enough to begin, stepping forward, not quitting, taking on all challenges in life. Caution; exercising prudence, biting tongue, silence. Although shocking to a fighter, this involves growing; a wiser person peers about.
Causes may be soul-shaking, dreamed for change comes; sometimes. Trying your best, believing, might realize your hopes, secure lasting reward. Equally, heartfelt determination may not be enough; vibrant good times can fade to shaded gray.
Introspection arrives, the mind searches for truths; or not! Snap out of it, hey, you with that blank stare. Now I’m getting an attitude!
FIVE MILE LOOK
Someone talking from so far away,
But what got said, I just cannot say.
“Did you just hear me”? My shoulder shook,
Back in focus with a five-mile look.
Head at a tilt while something is said,
Words in this ear then out of my head.
“Hey, stop zoning out; that’s just not fair,”
All that’s received is a mile’s deep stare.
Dream about this, muse on paths not walked,
Then missed something while someone talking.
If it’s that important, write a book,
Just let me enjoy my five-mile look.
Fighting for what you believe in; starting, a first step in a journey of the heart, the risk moving forward. Caution; a shocker involving listening, that may be bedrock to success. If not, a more strategic beginning for next time.
A cause; believing in your song strongly enough to keep dancing. However, as in all things, the universe doesn’t always move to the heart’s melody. Hoped-for change crashes to rubble, the world goes sunless gray with your mood.
Suddenly a voice from far away bounces off the protective bubble, where I crawled, inside my head. Hey, it’s me, life, remove that stupid look, get on your feet, and try again. Winners are movers and shakers the universe doesn’t tolerate slackers.
