– A U T H O R –
As I leave a week of observing attitudes, I think of all the unique qualities humans possess.
You must have the bravery of a warrior to even begin standing tall in the face of adversity.
With the intelligence to learn along the way shocking truths improving a latent innate ability to cope.
Plus possess a heart big enough to take on giants, win or lose, because inside says it’s the thing to do.
Which makes an intelligent soul feel crushed, hopeless, when giants win as is often the case.
Allowing self-preservation to kick in, so we can retreat within ourselves for a while, regroup; try again.
In order to blast idiots, who put us down without considering individualism and indomitable spirit.
What have I left out? Oh yes, love in some form, defines and completes each and every one of us.
As the Beatles would say “Love is all you need.”
DEFINITION OF LOVE
Described matter oh so varied,
No definition quite will do.
Exceptional experience,
Needs not reason, leaves no clue.
Inconvenient at times… ah yes,
Some hate listening to their heart.
Existential human nature,
Romance, or tears one’s life apart.
May love someone, some land, a dog,
Feeling lies so deep within.
Bring smiles of joy or great sorrow,
Splash of teardrops or silly grin.
So no, there’s no real description,
Because thoughts of love are too much.
Don’t look for sage to explain love,
Experts on love, we have not such.
What a quick fractional look at the microcosm carried within what we call attitude.
Emotions creating attitudes are as varied as humans themselves, Bravery beyond belief, outgunned,
taking on the world, Intelligent enough to know better, stung to the point,
somewhere inside says it is hopeless, caring enough to say dammit,
someone has to make a stand, try for change, stand firm and tall.
And when that cause is denied by the universe, soft enough to bruise,
feel pain, go muted gray for a while, then safe within a protected bubble,
healing, contemplating what ifs and paths not taken.
And while bouncing yet again, silently listen to fools and hustlers who don’t know diddly,
saying we told you so; got me figured out do you?
Know what though, screw it, tomorrow I save the world, today I hold hands,
watch puppies, dig my toes in the dirt, smell the flowers!
