Wow, Thanksgiving, so what am I thankful for?
Well, no matter what the political spectrum, I’m pretty sure God still loves me. So far, there has been food on the table and toilet paper in the bathroom. That means I’ve been able to cover both ends, no mean achievement in a world of turmoil and hate. There is no one I hate that I’m not familiar with, so how do others do it? Personally, “I don’t give a damn my dear,” to quote the late great Rhett Butler from “Gone With The Wind.” Everyone, please have a wonderful holiday, worry about hate later.
GIVE THANKS
Be it turkey or ham
Depends on finances
Could be weenies or Spam
World is full of chances
Good champagne or red wine
Does not matter you see
For me water is fine
Give thanks that part is free

I am writing number two in my series of marital discord blogs and poems.
Marital disharmony came to mind as I walked up the drive the other night.
Big game today, or every day for us patriots.
A short 55 years have passed since last I shot myself, seems like only yesterday.
I’ve always been a dog man, oh don’t get me wrong, cats are ok but they just aren’t loyal like a dog, so we had dogs.
A man in church with my wife listened to the sermon and remarked how he guessed we are all “second string angels.”
I’m full up on taking crap and keeping my mouth shut.
