– A U T H O R –
Life is that way, man; it ain’t all peaches and cream out there. What are you going to do, sit down, admit defeat, and cry? Cool, if that floats your boat, sail on; my Taurus attitude tells me to go gore something. I’ll have plenty of time to lay down when I’m dead. I mean, face it, failure is so negative. Far better to put on a happy face, act like you give a shit, and take the world by the horns. Success, happiness, and all that comes with it are defined by a little piece of you, your soul. So, as Jimi Hendrix used to say, “Sail on Mr. businessman… Soon my kind will drop and die, but I’m gonna fly my free flag high” Jimi probably had a few crap days too, walking alone along his watchtower. Oh yea, sail on.
INSIDE LOOKING OUT
I have to be silent, keep wildness inside,
Always be happy, swallow my pride.
Never a sad note, draw on a smile,
Laugh while I’m crying, feel insides on trial.
Skip along pathways where feet often stumble,
Look ever so sharp, when in truth, I stumble.
Eagle-eyed vision, I miss not a nary,
Strong, flint hard, solid, though future is scary.
Energy boundless. Though spirit sagging,
Determination’s a strength, never flagging.
Always hear right, easily tune out the wrong,
Nobody questions, am I really that strong.
Many the time, and often I ponder,
Do others play makeup while through life they wander?
Trying apparent, all you want is alone,
Go through all the motions, or sink like a stone.
Kick into gear, all that’s seen is smooth sailing,
Never show to the world, confidence flailing.
Not once admitting how much pain loss can give,
Acknowledging failure is just too negative.
