– A U T H O R –
Having previously concluded life is but a series of attitudes, yesterday I debuted my full-on war song. Then it struck me, yes, we should all stand strong in the face of adversity, yes, sing a song of courage, not of defeat and cowardice.
However, God never said go forth and die in the commission of stupidity either. I experienced a shocking epiphany one day that changed my attitude and improved my learning curve at the same time.
SHOCKING
Was fixing electric fence for my dog,
Just me and my helper Linda Sue.
Working electric fence while fighting,
Must say is the wrong thing to do.
Grumbling while splicing the wires,
Do this, do that, put a pole there.
Grabbed a loose wire: connected,
Straight out shot all my curly hair!
Hollered Linda: you pull the plug?
Eyes wide, nodded, hand over mouth.
Sincerity seemed quite doubtful,
I started cussing; she headed south.
Learned a good lesson: didn’t take long,
Don’t fight wife fixing electric fence.
If you must: check plug-in yourself,
Or else you might fry out your sense.
Losers never try, spend a life wondering “what if?” Winners succeed or go down trying, and those surviving an attitude adjustment grow wiser.
