WHAT DO YOU SEE?
On we go, another day of celebration.
Of what you may ask, and my response is of being Americans. We’ve been kicked on, lied to, put down, and all manner of other mean, nasty things. Mostly done by those who would like to see America socially decline even further. However, we don’t cater to despots, or communists, thinly clad in camouflaged progressive, climate-saving, help-the-poor underdog clothing. Americans stand on their own two feet, clawing their way to prosperity and freedom. Patriots need no help from elites who don’t think common man has the brains to succeed without help from global overlords.
We have done it before and shall again. Stand strong, patriots. God bless America!
WHAT DO YOU SEE
Wow, take a look at our liberty bell,
See crack up the side; she looks worn as hell.
Or Betsy’s flag, original thirteen,
Sort of used up, kind of haggard and lean.
Would Francis Scott Key still stand on the bow?
Look for flag flying in shape she’s in now?
Could bell still be forged into symbol so strong?
Put steel in our hearts where she’s lain so long.
That bell is not finished; it’s ready for more,
She rang during peacetime, boomed in a war.
Flag still holds together, stitched up a bit.
Stands for all of us whose souls just won’t quit.
Look deep inside; there’s your Liberty Bell,
Might be cracked, aching, sick, feel worn as well.
You’re flying a free flag, might be in tatters,
Whatever the look, that’s not what matters.
The bell rings for freedom, will so again,
That crack means so little; rings till we win.
If the flag seems somewhat weathered, take care,
So are our people; we put her up there.
